Raw Material Color Marking
Raw material is color-coded according to the steel standard and steel grade, marked with heat number and dimension.
Square Hollow
Square hollow sections and channel stocks at MHDI material yard.
Vertical Storage
Hot-rolled plate is stored vertically to increase the efficiency of picking and removal.
Pipe Sections
Carbon steel pipe waits for fabrication, color-coded and marked with heat number.
Traceability
Steel plates are marked with color, job number, dimension, steel grade and heat number. The heat number is used to permanently track all steel parts through a project.
Hot Rolled Steel Angle
Angles are ordered by specific dimension and grade, such as Chinese (GB), ASTM A36, JIS SS400, and EN S275. Availability of non-Chinese materials is based upon quantity ordered.
Hot-Rolled Beam
Light, medium, heavy, and extra heavy hot-rolled beam can be procured in GB, ASTM, JIS, and EN.
Plate Picking
Carbon steel plates are picked for prefabrication according to dimension and grade.
Hollow Sections
Hollow sections include circular (pipe), square, and rectangular. These sections are both [carbon structural] and high-strength ~ low alloy (HSLA).
Yard Capacity
The Main Shop material yard occupies 6,000m2 and can store over three thousand tons of various ready stock for immediate use.
GB (Chinese) Channel
The most common channel used in China is according to Chinese standards offered in both 235/250, and 345Mpa grade.
Imported Channel
JIS 400 channel awaits fabrication @MDHI. Other channel such as ASTM standard, MC, or EN may be procured based upon quantity and availability.
Rail Beams
Rail beam can be supplied in various dimension & grade.
Carbon Steel Pipe
Spec 5 API pipe is used for modular piping spools.
Alloy Steel Pipe
Stainless and allow pipe is used for special process piping by MDHI modular team.
Stainless Steel
Stainless sheet is used for HRSG liner for inlet ducts, casing, components, and other mechanical work.
Diamond Plate
MHI can supply various types od decking plate, such as Flat Plate, Diamond Plate, Tear Plate, Checkered Plate, etc.
Welding Consumables
All welding consumables are stored in temperature and humidity controlled store rooms with controlled access. FCAW, GMAW, TIG, SMAW, SAW Flux, and related materials are issued per signed requisition only.
Storage Procedures
The logging of environmental conditions is required as per American Welding Society.
Flux Recycling
SAW flux is dried and recycled to reduce waste and control consumable quality.
SMAW Heating
SMAW electrodes are dried or "baked" to ensure any absorbed moisture is removed from the rod is not present during welding, as it can cause weld porosity.
Shop Consumables
Storekeepers stock and issue all shop consumables, tool parts and HSE equipment.
